I saw imagery of Varnavinskoye reservoir, here on the blog. Person that posted it is kinda saying that Google spotted the fall of water level at reservoir. This is of course not true and using imagery which makes impression that water is leaking is also not right. Image is actually not from 2012, but 2011.
Here are photos from the same source (Google, which actually uses imagery of Digital Globe and GeoEYE) to see how did this place looked several years ago (looks the same)… and it is obvious that google does not update satellite imagery (in public) that often. It even took some weeks for Haiti to get updated after earthquake.
